Hi guys.

I bought a coated lens as an upgrade for my flashlight. Unfortunately I mixed it up with the uncoated one and now am not sure which one is which. Is there any way to tell?

Bring it under a light (Sunlight is best but a table lamp will typically work also) the coating usually has a different colored reflection then a plain glass lens. You may have to view it from multiple angles to see what I'm taking about.

It should be. When viewed at the correct angle (not head on) the lens will usually show a greenish reflection. The color might be different, but unlike plain uncoated glass you will definitely see some color when viewing it at an angle. Not in the glass, but reflected off the glass.

Remember to inspect BOTH sides, as there may be only one side that is coated.

Sometimes it's greenish, sometimes it color shifts like a rainbow (dependant on coating type?).

Then again, you may have been scammed.... hard to say.
