So what about care for the rubber boot that covers your switch? Does anyone treat it, armor-all it or otherwise try to extend it's life?

I am thinking about applying a little bit of armor-all the the rubber to keep it from drying out and pliable. Any thoughts or ideas?

Finally, what are the boots made from? Assuming every company doesnt use a different material.

Nope, I don't do anything to prolong their life.
My oveready 9p has had it's tail cap worn smooth in 6 months (note, it's due to the way I carry it, and oveready are going to throw in a new boot next time I order from them) and my L4 and U2 have also had theirs worn almost smooth.

My lights are tools, and although I try and take care of them by not dropping them, they are going to get worn, dinged and scratched. I actually prefer the look of a light that has some miles on it
