I've been reading this forum for about a week & haven't seen an answer to a couple of questions I have. Can anyone tell me if anyone has tried/done the following?

1) Either modify or replace the tail cap on a Streamlight TT1L or 2L so it has a switch? The idea is that I could turn the flashlight on & off with that switch, but leave the other switch set for the light I want to use.

2) Make a drop in LED for a Surefire E2E which doesn't require new head or modifications to the light. What are the limitations of this idea?

1) The mod is possible, and if you have a lathe, quite easy. Very difficult if you don't, I expect. The Kroll tailswitch will work quite happily for this purpose.

2) Not that I've heard of. Almost any LED to be installed would need to have the head modified in some small way. I think someone took a dead LA from the E2e and put a standard (5mm) white LED in place of the bulb, but that's the only way to get a LED in there.

Enjoy the hobby - it's fun! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
