MODS, if this is in the wrong area, please let me know...

Hey folks, I just picked up a used but great condition Streamlight TLR-1s. The reviews on this light are great, although something is wrong with mine. It is just not bright!

My cheapie EDC utility light outshines this thing...

I EDC a Energiser 1w LED, and this Streamlight is supposedly a 3w LED. Looking for suggestions on what may be the issue. I highly doubt Streamlight makes crap.

And my Surefire 6p Converted to LED blows them both away.

There is definitely something wrong with that tlr1s. I have one and it goes toe to toe with any other light I have. That includes many Surefire's with Malkoff drop in's, quark turbo, zl sc60, etc. I posted a few beamshots but here is the one of the streamlight.
Also, be sure you are using 2 fresh CR123 batteries.

Id get in touch with them. I am sure they have a warranty comparable to surefire as they are their main competitor for weapon lights. But I may be wrong. Alls I know is mine is an underrated 160 lumens. Does the strobe feature work? A quick double tap of the switch?

vtlo910....there is definitely something wrong with your TLR-1s. The regular TLR-1 I used to own was very bright...much brighter than pictured in your photo. Check your batteries first...make sure they're both brand new.

I have tried New New Batteries.

I tried using Energizer 123, 1110A Printed on the side, 3,0v Pile Lithium.

I also tried using a Surefire SF123A 3v Lithium Battery.

I'm now looking at Streamlights web page

Am I actually that :ohgeez:...

Could something as simple as different letter designations on the batteries be my problem...?

I even got the correct batteries according to Streamlight today, and even they do not fix the problem.

I called them today. They were super nice. They said that all I need to do is send them the unit. They will take care of the rest.

Lets see what happens.
