Wanting to building a bright floody p60 based light.

I have been eyeing the X-ML and XPG dropins. I saw the THRUNITE CREE XML P60 DROPIN and the SOLARFORCE CREE XPG DROPIN.

I would like the following features
1) Bright(at least 300 OTF lumens)
2) FLOOD(will use for walks and attaching to bike)
3) Good runtime(Min 1 hour)
4) Single mode is fine
5) Rechargeable

Thanks!

I do have a DBS that has a R2 emitter that I am willing to mod if needed.

My #1 non-pocket light is a Surefire C2 with a 3 level/mode Thru-Nite XM-L and some of Phaserburn's diffusion material. It's stupid bright (when you need it to be) and has a very usable medium mode that will take care of probably 90% of your needs, plus a ~20 lumen low mode.

The XM-L has a pretty big hotspot anyway and with the diffusion film, it makes it probably 3 times as big and the spill beam is very bright as well.

Honestly, it a spectacularly great setup and with a Solarforce host, you can do the entire rig for $50 plus batteries. I'm going to build one or two duplicates using the tan Solarforce host and/or the HAIII Solarforce host.

Cratz that sounds good, what battery would you suggest?

With the 3 mode or single mode, how many 18650's can i use?

Well, my C2 isn't bored so I have to use a 17670. When I build the Solarforces, I'll use some 2800 mAh 18650s I have.

I don't like flashy modes, so I use the 2.7-4.2V 3 mode modules... so one 18650 only. With the Thru-Nite XM-L drop ins, they offer a 2.7-9V single mode drop-in which would work just fine with one or two 18650s. And they offer a 3.5-9V 3 mode version that would work fine with two 18650s, but I'm not 100% sure what happens when the cell drops below 3.0V with a single 18650.
