Wow, I have lego-ed the perfect combo. I have a copper Van Isle Quad R5 (!600 lumen 3 level), housed in a Cryos Cooling bezel, on a SF 3P round body, with a Clipped Triad TC to hold it all together. Running a IMR 16340, it runs at full brightness.

I have a FM 1x18350 body on the way to squeeze a bit more runtime out of the setup. Although I like the smooth body with the smooth tail.

This all black set up is sweet, and probably the bightest light of this size.

Check out the pics.

Does it still do 1600 OTF lumens with the 18350 cell?

VEEERY Nice....

I've got my VanIsleDSM 5.6 Neutral 3 level in an Oveready 6P HA Natural - not quite nice as the original "steampunk" versions they had - but still special. I like something a little longer to hold onto.

That's a nice setup. What kind of run-time do you get on high and what was the total price once you were done?

My setup was $360 dollars roughly. $80 for the C2 body $190 for the Dropin and the Head and tailcap are from an existing 6p I had$60 value. and $9 for AwImr18650, $18 for the AW 18650 2900mah protected as a backup

As for total runtime, I'm not sure. After 30-40 minutes on high I recharge the battery.

Policescannermans setup is a fairbit more since hs has the copper Vannisle dropin, triad tail, cryos head, and 3p body are hard to get.

On a 16340 I got 9 minutes on high, and well over an hour on low. Low is plenty bright. When my FM 1x18350 shows up that'll pack on a lil more runtime. As for the money invested, too much. :D

I guessed 8 min on high when I read the OP, not a bad guess huh.

Looks awesome I like it alot! I wish they had the tl65 and cryos in stock I would like to build a similar light.

That is a very nice looking setup, there. Ooooooooh.

You know, if you're bemoaning the 16340's lack of run time, the Moodoolar host tubes with the ZeroRes "shorty" switch can allow you to stuff an 18500 into the 18350 tube, or an 18650 into the 18500 tube. Something to consider, if you're looking to keep it short with the greatest possible run time in that length.

Oh, dang, I didn't know about this! Thanks for the heads up, a IMR18500 would be sweet, and wi zero res, it'll get all the juice. :naughty:

Will the zerores work with the fm 18350?

Yes. The ZR Shorty works in all Z41 type caps and these work with all C series tubes. See the latest Insider for more info.

Thanks Dan!

The only draw back I see is having a clipped TC with a twisty...

I can put the ZR shorty in my non clipped Triad. ;)
