Upgrading Lens Maglite XL50. Help.

Has anyone upgraded the lens on the Maglite XL50? I plan on doing it myself but need to know a few things.
1. How thick is the lens?
2. Does replacing the stock lens affect the weather sealing?
Any help would be appreciated.

1. it's the same as a mini mag 2AA lens. so dimensions should be 22.61mm diameter, .95mm thickness. glass mini mag lenses are available at a number of places.
2. probably not. there should be an o-ring between the bezel and the lens, and the seal shouldn't be affected by changing the lens. however, removing the reflector may not be easy. look halfway down the first post on this thread: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...light-Review&p=3560489&viewfull=1#post3560489
