A light (and especially a twisty one) where the tube is rubbing against a PCB thin layer in the head for contact doesn't read "tough" in my book.

The TK20 probably can survive being rolled over by a tank, but good luck finding one. If you don't need to roll over it, the Fenix E20, E21 and LD25 are all very sturdy and pretty much what is supposed to replace the TK20.

The TK40, TK41 and TK45 are also very, very tough flashlights, check this thread out.

+1 on the Fenix LD25. I've dropped mine onto the garage floor many times, used it in the rain and snow, and once accidently dropped it in the snow and ran over it with a running 2 stage snow blower which blew it out 20 feet into a snow bank. It still works fine (though it is a little scratched up at this point). I use it for my beater light and it always works no matter how much I abuse it. It has a decent neutral tint, good brightness levels, and is decently bright. A good mix between flood and throw.

I clicked on this to recommend the TK20 as well, but you have a lot of good suggestions and information already.

At this point we need the original poster to clarify what he means by "abuse": operating the light frequently or running tanks over it? If the later, then I retract my initial recommendation and propose a stainless steel Xeno Cube instead.

If you want a REALLY tough light I'd recommend one of the safety rated, drop test rated, waterproof, plastic bodied lights.

Underwater Kinetics, Streamlight, and Pelican are U.S. manufacturers that offer a wide variety of safety rated lights. These lights are used by firefighters, rescue personnel, and similar occupations where lives may depend on a functioning light.

A few of my favorites:

Streamlight:

Pelican:

The Pelican and Underwater Kinetics models are made in USA, the Streamlight models are assembled in USA. All have lifetime warranties.

I've owned and used various models of the lights listed above for years and can attest that they are very tough lights.

Mine have been dropped, slammed into metal and rock, stepped on, and submerged without any failures. One of my Streamlight 4AAs was accidently backed over by a car on a cement driveway - scuffed up the case pretty good, but no loss of functionality.

Quark lights by 4Sevens can take a beating.

Also, don't overlook the humble LED Mini Maglite.
