I have two of them and they work great. It is about 10-12 lumens tops and will work in any situation. I had taken out the original nimh aaa's and put two tenergy centura aaa's to ensure that the light held a charge for a year or so when sitting around. Think of a fauxton or a typicak keychain light with a white/mainly bluish color beam. The led is a 5mm flood, like a cree 5mm flood, and in a plastic reflector which throws pretty far for what its got(like 10-15m).

The solar panels are poly-crystalline so they will only work good in direct sunlight. The light is definitely waterproof and floats and is definitely robust as you can drop it from 10ft and will not even hurt it. Great backup light for any use as it will just work when you need it. Very light and useful as if you can get two of them for 20-30 bucks I would suggest getting them as they are worth it.

Hope this helps,
Eric Ramirez
