The Fenix TK20 is as far as I know still the best throwing 2x AA light. It is also very neutral and incredibly tough.
Good luck finding one though ;)

I think Fenix TK20 would fulfill your desires. Unfortunately It's discontinued, but I think there are still some dealers who carry it.

That is very true. Although I'm about to post my personal still brand new one up for sale in the marketplace. ;)

I don't think it will be an amazing thrower but it is neutral and runs on two "AA" cells. You're going to be hard pressed to find a two "AA" thrower.

EagleTac P100A2.

Here's my post links below on researching regarding the 2AA thrower. Took a while and trial an error but I came out with the P100A2 and am very happy with it sold the rest. From what I gathered and my trial and error buying/looking for 2AA throwers the P100A2 is the best thrower.

I was looking for a 2XAA thrower for a while and went through a few AA throwers like the Quark Turbo(2AA/XP-G S2) and P20A2 Mark 1(XP-E R2). I left some links down below of threads I made during the search for a 2AA thrower that fit my liking. I went through many lights and ended up selling them until I got to the P100A2. I finally settled with a P100A2.

Maybe the threads below can help you get an idea.

What were you thoughts on the Quark AA turbo because I was considering that one.

I test my lights in 2 different areas. One part by the ocean the other by a 130 meter wall near SFO Airport on my way to my car. The quark turbo 2aa S2 didn't pass my personal light tests. I sold it pretty fast, it could throw but I simply liked my P100A2 beam profile better. I am still looking for a 2AA thrower and every time I see these threads I start researching again. In the end 2AA can only throw so far like others have said.

EDIT:
Oh wow, I didn't know they had an R3 XR-E on the Javalin as an option hmmmm definitely going to have to look into these later you got me interested as I held off from even looking into these more thoroughly.

TK20 will definitely throw much further than the E21 (bigger reflector)

The Quark Turbo is nice too (I have the 123 version). I haven't compared them in a while, but it probably throws almost the same as the TK20. It's also lighter and smaller than the TK20.
