Hi, i personally love super thrower very much and was inspired by this flashlight http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...8-TRA-66-Aspheric-lens-Flashlight-150-000-lux

Since we dont have this flashlight in our country, so which flashlight would you suggest to fit in a 66mm big aspheric lens? I cant get maglite in our country, and i just need a cheap body host for me to do the rest. Probably flashlight with 50mm bezel diameter should be fine too. so do you mind help me with this? Thanks!

That light bench marked one of my earlier build, the Franken Mag Jr, where I used the 66mm DX lens with R2 & got ~220K lux @ 1 meter: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...ot-vs.-35W-HID

The host is a Cheap DX shower head, but I merged it with a Mag body. However, it's possible just use the DX host for a cheaper build, the heat sink will be limited, there's little room, which will limit the performance.

That 66mm lens is amazing for the size & cost.

Yeah I notice your post few days before, your lights are beast! I can't wait to make myself one of these but I really need some guide, so anything do I need to take care of when building them? how to make to LED mount adjustable so that I can adjust the LED to the ideal focal point?

The host is a Cheap DX shower head, but I merged it with a Mag body.

So may I know what is this item name in DX?

SKU 3154, the 76 led flashlight.

Adjustbility is based on the length of thread section, mag has longer, the cheap host has little adjustbility,
you'll need to figure out the ideal focal point first, which is pretty deep with this host & 66mm lens.

this thread may help you, this was built on the dx host before I merged it with mag body:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?264722-How-to-make-XPG-throw-further-than-XRE-Use-a-better-Collimation!-A-DEFT-Clone-Exp.

besides no room for a good heat sink, the switch of this host is terrible. mag body provided good switch, longer thread section and a decent heat sink that's readily available.

Ah, I found the 76 led light, thank you very much for the guide :)

For my situation I wish to have a budget thrower, so after knowing this housing I might consider to use it as my thrower body. Well you have tried using this cheap host to modify right? As you said the thread is short but can it still capable of mounting the led on the focal point of the 66mm aspheric lens?

About the heat sink, I think it's fine to me because I am not going to switch on this light for practical using purpose, but just want the fun out of it(several minutes, maybe? :D). I never seen this light before so actually Im just worried about whether my Q5 can mount on it and lies on the focal point as desired...
