Hi everyone ,

I would like to see some of the best CPF stuff ever so lets see your favorite multi emitter lights.

I would prefer to see pics of custom lights, modified Mags and Surefires etc, but if you have a production light that is fairly uncommon or you just love post it.

Here is one I liked.

I made this one for member jwyj.

10 XPG. What I loved so much about this one was it didn't have a typical "beam" like the cone shaped thing. I was more like a "fog" of light that reaches 100+ yards deep and almost as wide, very smooth.

This D30 is a prototype and a near one-off at the time of its build. Theres some crude "blobby" hand solder work in inside the bezel / switch mechanism.... so I think this one qualifies.

OK tx101,

Lets see how close I get. Starting at the top left. Triple XRE, 5 XRE, Quad p7. Frist 3 all on DL heat sinks. Im also gonna take a guess at the reflectors in the 5 Cree and say either DLs reflectros from almost 2 years ago or the DX 18mms?

On the bottom quad cree XRE with Fraen reflectors maybe? DL heatsink. 4 XRE with modamag copper sink, I'm gonna say shot in the dark next 2 are both quad XPG on DL heat sinks?

I gotta be at least warm on some of these right LOL :)

Damn, seeing all this makes me wonder why I don't get into modding more. I guess it has to do mostly with the parts needed not being readily available around every corner or every website. I tend to keep my lights stock, the most modding I do now is maybe upgrading a lamp assembly or upgrading a tailcap etc.

I think DeFab has the coolest multi-emitter setups.
Mag builds are fairly straight forward, all the components are "off the shelf"
plus you have a lot of room inside a Mag.

DeFabs Aleph + PRT builds all require custom made heatsinks, knowing DeFab all handmade
without the use of a lathe.

DaFABRICATA,

Wow! Thanks. I should have know starting this thread would cause me to want to spend money.

Those Aleph hosts, is that one of McGizmos custom lights? Where/how can they be purchased? Is there a thread?

tx101,

Thanks again..

TheIND,

Dont worry, most of us did not have any at 6 posts either. Maybe you can jump in on my next sales thread, BTW last one to get mulit-emitter lights is a rotten egg. LOL :poke:

Seriously though welcome to CPF! :grouphug:

Production of the Aleph series has long since ceased. They do occasionally turn up for sale on the forum.

@DeFab ... how about some specs on your multi-emitter setups ? Are they direct drive or regulated ?

Do any of these multi-emitters allow you to adjust the beam from spot to a good quality flood (I say "of these" to stay on topic but I'm really wondering about multi-emitters in general)? I'm imagining a spotlight in the center, surrounded by floodlights.
