Can someone suggest a commercially available led light that I can use for partially drained CR123s. Something that can be used when the lights go out. Something similar to the Hurricane light (except that it used an incandescent bulb) that Surefire sold a few years back. Thanks for the help.

Does it have to be new?
Because old Inova X5's are good battery vampires, especially the red one.

Moon mode (basically anything under 1 lumen) will give you plenty of runtime.

No it doesn't have to be new. I will check out the Inova X5. I saw on another thread that the Tekna Splashlight is also good for draining batteries.
Thanks.

If you want a light that is very small and compact, you could look at the Quark Mini X 123 or, if you want to go a little bigger in order to get a 0.2 Lumen moonlight mode with extreme runtime, the Quark 123.

If you want to use a light as a vampire for cr123 cells it should be a one cell light (for safety). IIRC the red Inova X5 is a one cell light. For a more usable white light I'd use a single cell HDS or Novatac.
