SF's clicky are well-known of cheap mechanics
Today i finally felt it:crackup:

The "tower" inside the tailcap seemed to be bent,
sometime when i press it down, it stucks
it will gives a constant mode but it didnt get down completely
and when you press it gently(well, for a few times) it will return to off
When i go constant on
i had to give a few click to get it locked in position since it wont b locked in 1 click
sometime i cant even get it to constant on, that little thing wont comply with me
also when i activate constant mode, the plastic inside the tailcap gets loosen and when i shake the light, i can hear some cracking.(Figured out, normal but i think its a flaw)
Pressing the clicky to click, wasnt a smooth action

Unfortunately, this light arrives just 2 weeks ago, and this is how durable the clicky is:tsk:

now, i will just stick to press-on mode.

Thanks for the photo. Please can you take one at an angle?

Which E-Series model is it from? Was it brand new?

You're contacting SureFire to arrange a replacement?

SF E2e
the tailcap has the marking "www.surefire.com" but no "surefire usa"
I might contact SF regarding this
but since i am not at home all the time, it would be difficult to receive a replacement

Thats the older one (from at least 5-6 years ago IIRC)... that one that was prone to breaking upon drop impact, and other random failures.

The new one has black plastic guts and a metal sleeve wrapped around the switch plastic for reinforcement. There have been very few reports of the black ones breaking. The current E2 series lights have a raised shoulder around the tailcap area in the body as well, to prevent the cells from slamming into the switch upon drop impact.
