Anodizing Type on G3 LED Bezel

Just picked up a G3 LED from LA Police Gear's clearance. Nice light, and it will be even better when my upgraded drop-in arrives!

Does anyone know what type of anodizing is on the G3 LED bezel? It looks and feels different from the Type II on my 6P. Could it be hard-anodized?

What does it say on it? I think my newest G2L is type III if I remember correctly, as the head is a KX4-BK-HA. If that's what yours says, then yes it's hard anodized.

There are 2 types of bezel's that came with the 2 generation of G3 LED's.

1 was the standard surefire z44 bezel in Type II ano, type III wasn't available, would have come with a P60L

2 was the later G3 that came with the kx4 sealed bezel that came in a varity of finishes and colors, if this is the one you have, easily distinguishable by the lettering kx4 on the side, it is a sealed unit and will not be able to accept a dropin.

It says, "Caution Hot Surface.". That's all. No model number or other inscription.

If it has a p60L inside and you can remove the LED module, then it's the older model with type II ano.

It does have a P60L module inside. Must be Type II anodizing.
