Why wouldnt SF's TIR produce dartboard

Ive used a TIR lens before and it gives a dartboard beam profile
but on youtube, people uses their E1L/E2L/E1B etc.
they dont seem to have a dartboard problem

Probably because your TIR wasn't mounted properly or you were using the wrong size. TIRs are very picky. You can't use a TIR meant for a XR-E on an XP-G for example... Also, it could boil down to imperfections in your optics...

The "dartboard" pattern is probably too difficult to pick up on some of those youtube videos, it isn't the same as taking a still photograph. My understanding is surefire uses a type of LDF (light diffusing film) over the lens over their TIR based lights to smooth out the beam pattern as much as possible with compromising it's throw. I'm sure the beam pattern of TIR lights varies between different models.
