My Elektrolumens XM-3 was my first custom light. Technology has outdated it. It was my favorite camping light many years ago. Tough as nails! Decided to upgrade it to an XP-G and get it back out in the woods again.
Popped out the old emitter. Used a penny to shim it to the correct height. Neutral White emitter rated 119lm @ 350ma.
Measured 3.15 volts at the tailcap and 800ma at tailcap. Don't know how many lumens that is but it's much brighter than it was before.
Looks like this flashlight isn't retiring for a while.
