Sold/Expired withdrawn: XML and Driver upgraded Sportsman Extreme Lantern

This is one of my favorite mods. It is such a nice little lantern upgrade, I got carried away and built more than I need. This is the 3D Rayovac Sportsman Extreme lantern, with the following upgrades:

• LED upgraded to a Cree XML T6 (1D tint if I remember correctly)
• Driver upgraded to the Shiningbeam 1.4 amp 3mode driver
• Switch upgraded to a forward clicky
• Beam profile improved using a Boom reflector
• Cooling improved by removing the internal diffuser dome
• Glow powder installed for locating the lantern in the dark

The original sportsman extreme is 300 lumens. With these upgrades this lantern should be making 400-450 lumens.

New driver wired up, it is thermally epoxied to the aluminum plate for cooling purposes.

This shot is designed to show the lantern's new beam profile. Note that much more light goes down and out now, perfect for outdoor use on a picnic table or hanging from a tree/lantern pole. (note, there is a small ring projected directly above the lantern, you can see it in this shot)

I use this lantern with Accuevolution Low Self Discharge NiMH cells. I have tested runtime on high to be about 6 hours. There is a low battery warning, the light switches to low and starts flashing.



I am asking withdrawn without batteries, or withdrawn with 3 Accuevolution LSD cells. Shipping CONUS only please. Insurance is extra, I am not responsible for lost uninsured packages.
