I am planning to extend my HP11's run wire so that the battery pack fits in my pocket. I want to have a waterproof connection where i splice the wire. How do i do this?
I've heard of just using heatshrink over a soldered wire but any further advice i can get would be very helpful :)

The hardest part to waterproof will be where it goes into the cases. Really, bare wire isn't hurt so much by water until it rusts through, but small components inside the cases, where water is trapped and held, are more vulnerable. Check out the dive lights builder stuff for the glands they use, or go crazy with silicone caulk.
