To get some funds for new projects I have to sell this light:
"Eco-Star" Quad XM-L U2 @ 4000 lumens with D2Flex:

- FiveMega FM3V-2 Turbohead
- M@g 4D body
- 4x Cree XM-L U2, cool white
- 4x modified alu-reflectors
- custom made heatsink
- Taskled D2Flex, 5 mode setting & momentary switch

Front of the light:

Other view:

Please take a look at the original building thread HERE !
Please use only AW 18650 IMR cells, normal Li-Ions will not handle the current.
I used a little spring inside the tailcap-contact to reduce current, no whining noise
to hear any more while changing the modes- to get back full power and "turbo mode"
only remove the spring. All parts inside the light are not glued or heavily fixed, you
can easily go on with modifying the light (only emitters are glued to heatsink).

SOLD for 410$ 390$ 375$ 360$ 349$ 327$ 307$ 288$ 269$ 199€
(paypal fees on me, shipping on you, PM me for details and my paypal address for payment)

First who posts "I´ll take it" followed by payment gets it!

Thank you for watching & best regards,

Steffen

So all four xmls are in series and get over 6amps each during turbo mode? Have you actually measured 6amps at the tailcap? I can't believe they can take that much power for over a minute! That's awesome!

Re: F.S.: "Eco-Star" Quad XM-L U2 @ 4000 lumens with D2Flex:

...as I said in original building thread: I would not use the light for longer than 10 seconds in "turbo mode" refering to original CREE datasheet for XM-L U2 - but I used it for about 4 minutes without problem. But to make the light more save I decided to use a little spring in tailcap (sorry for my bad english- even hard to explain in german) to reduce the amperage- actually the light is on highest mode much dimmer than before in "turbo mode", no whining noise from the D2Flex (and I never heard something like this in my triple SST-90 lights at more amperage from D2Flex). B.t.w., when I built this light my intention was, to build a maximum power 4x XM-L U2 light with really good beam, this light is not made for all day use, although it has 5 modes. When you hold it in your hands, you will only use highest mode, cause this is real fun and makes the difference.

Best regards,
Steffen

That's a hefty fella!

Good luck with the sale. I've found things are a lot harder to move from one loving home to another than even a few years past. :(

...Thank you!
some years ago most of us may had more money "left" for toys ... This is another price drop for the light, but that is how the system works- as soon, as the price for the light is good enough for someone to buy it, it will be sold- On the other hand I know, how much time and money I spent into building this torch- alone think about the price for the FM turbohead... So may I should think about keeping the light... but at this time:

...PRICE DROP...

best regards from Frankfurt,
Steffen

Such an awesome build man, I plan on making one very similar soon, just looking to get my hands on one of those huge turbo heads. Let me know if you ever decide to part it out.

so if you can use turbo mode for only about 10 secs, whats the mode below that one....high? how long can it stay on high mode for? will the high mode be brighter than the fenix tk70?

Re: F.S.: "Eco-Star" Quad XM-L U2 @ 4000 lumens with D2Flex -under 300$-drop!

Hello bluebill,
you can use the "Turbo mode" for longer than 10 seconds, but I cannot recommend this. The mode below that one (mode 4 from 5, but you can use other setups with more modes, see datasheet for D2Flex at taskled) is more dimm than mode 5 "Turbo mode" but still runs at 3,4A- CREE recommends to run the XML at 3A, so mode 4 runs the XML´s on more than "full power". You can read about this in original building thread. At this time I put some resistance in to reduce current by using a little spring in the tailcap (wrote about this above)- so you can run the light at all five modes, but for all high power custom lights it makes sense to watch your light while using it, find out, when it gets too hot and needs a break and things like this...- To get back "turbo mode" only put out the little spring in the tailcap, but I would keep it as it is- still very bright! I have no comparrison to the TK70, but ask yourself, which one should be brighter..

Best regards,
Steffen.
