Recently, I've been thinking it's time I get a new, quality flashlight, something different from the cheap incan I got from work, but I'm finding myself becoming a bit overwhelmed. Recommend a light for a newbie
I guess I want a general purpose light that can serve many functions. I would like to use it when I go backpacking/camping but I will also be using it around the house and in other situations that may require a flashlight. The only other flashlight that I own is a 2-D maglite (led) that I purchased last year. I would like something that is more compact and runs on AA batteries.

I've answered the questions as well as I can. I should mention that I'm looking for at least 2 lights; one for my key-chain and another, bigger, single cell light for other things. Some key-chain lights I've been thinking about are the Fenix E01, & Olight i2/i3. For the bigger light I'd prefer the smaller size of a single cell AA light, but would also consider a single cell CR123 light as I have access to both battery types at work. Some lights I've been considering for this are the JETBeam BA10/ BC10, Klarus P1A/P1C and Quark AA Tactical. I don't need strobe or SOS, just a fairly simple 2 or 3 mode UI. Sorry for being long winded, but I'd appreciate the feedback and any other suggestions or comments. Thanks!
