Depends on what tools you have and how hard it is to open up.
First thing I'd do is see if I could open it up without damaging it.
Next step would be inspection for obviously damaged stuff and connections that are lose or broken.
Then I'd test points on it with the multimeter to see what voltages I was getting on the power-in of the driver and the LED to see where the fault was.
