Can the INOVA T1 and T2 - Military Police - warm versions use RCR123s 3.7V ?

I have a friend who asked me that , he would preffer to use rechargeables than primaries but he's not sure if the lights can support 7-8V .
Some years ago I fried a TIROS XO3 with such batteries but TIROS lights were other story - they were using LUX III which can't handle a high voltage -

You are going to have to be more specific. What do you mean 'warm versions'?
T3 takes 3x cr123A, so you can run 2 x 17500 (you might need to enlarge the bore slightly)
T2 takes 2x cr123A, so you can run 1 x 17670 (again the bore needs to be bigger)
T1 takes 2x cr123A, so you can run 1 x 18650 (again needs boring)
Using 16340/RCR drops capacity markedly

I think the generations went: TIROS, '08 with K2 tffc, ('09) revised K2, ('10) Cree version, ('11) updated Cree version.

It's about 2008 MP versions with warm K2 TFFC emitter .
If 3.7V single cells - 17670 - are used there won't be any regulation despite a larger cell capacity . So, the question still remains : can they take 7.4V ?

Inova T1's and T2's have a warm emitter version now? I do remember running lithium ion cells in tiros Inovas years ago and never frying them. Though I'm not sure it if was one or two. Probably one. However, I'm pretty sure I ran two li-ion cells in the two cell lights though. If 6 volts is okay, why not 9? It would obviously have some type of buck driver to begin with.

Like mentioned above, I think I ran 2 x 17500 in a T3 with no problems. But that should be expected, because it's a 9 volt light.

They are not warm-white. They are warm cool-white (4750-5000K CCT, which is above Lumileds neutral-white range 3500-4500K)

Probably not.

The K2 TFFC emitters give a neutral-white tint .
I can use 2 x RCR123 3V in my TIROS lights but, some years ago, when I tried 2 x RCR123s 3.7V in an XO3, that was burnt instantly . Yes, not significant voltage difference but LUX III couldn't handle the voltage of 2 x 3.7V cells - 8.4V fully charged and between 7V and 8V later -
