Hey forum
I've been looking for some flashlights to fit on a Safariland RLS system
http://www.safariland.com/DutyGear/rls/

However I don't want to buy the light that comes with it just the mount.
I think the light that comes with it is under powered
Criteria

Length: must be under 5"
Width: must be between .970" (24.6mm) - 1.060" (26.9mm) in diameter
Weight: not concerned
Price: Around $40-60
Momentary press
Technology: LED hopefully a Q5 R5 (not sure what the difference is)
Shock proof (as it is being mounted to a weapon)
BATTERIES: Would strongly prefer NOT to use cr123
AA AAA common cheaply found battery system desired
Runtime: Around 60 mins is the MIN 90-120 is preferred on high
Spill vs throw, don't really care
lumen: around 100

So far the only light to almost fit my "requirements" is the ITP SA1

Hope you guys can find some other suggestions

-Thanks

You could go for the Maglite XL200. I dislike the 3xAAA config but for your requirements - under 5" and ~1" in diameter you can't pack much electrical potential energy with AAs (unless you use a 14500).

I don't know much about this stuff but I don't think you will find a reliable solution in this price range. I don't own any Surefires, but if I needed to mount a light on a gun I would (unfortunately they only have one 2xAA model that I am aware of).

I recommend editing your title of the thread to something like "Need Weapon Mounted Light: ~1 in. diameter AA Batteries". To do this edit your first post and click "go advanced."

Re: could use some help finding a flashlight

Actually I'm not sure it can be done. A single 1.2V AA doesn't have enough juice to generate 100 lumens for 60-90 minutes. A single CR123a does but it's out of the question. The size limitation may make this one difficult. I have a Novatac with a 17650 that will run for 4 hours at 100 lumens and the right size, but it's not a commonly found battery.

The zebralight sc51 claim 100 lumens for 2.4 hours running off of a single eneloop battery! It also can go up to 200 lumens for .9 hours. Its worth looking into.
