My first benchmark for a flashlight was a straight-barrel & bezel, 2xC, aluminum, halogen, Streamlight, Ca. 1985. It may have been in production earlier. It was hardly wider than the C-cells it used & was about 7" long, with a spare lamp, and tail-cap ring. Quite heavy duty & bright (for its day). It was considered expensive, at $15-$20; in 1985 they were rare. Naturally, I lost it when hiking & haven't seen any since. When I checked ten years ago, they were not in production. I'm curious if anyone else is familiar with this ahead-of-its-time Streamlight, or actually owned one. What was YOUR first, premium, light like & when was it manufactured?
