5-year-old lost from from camp site saved, the child was wearing a glowstick necklace

A 5-year-old got lost camping with her family, and was found 3-1/2 hours after they called 911 by a helicopter pilot...who spotted her by the GITD necklace she was wearing. :thumbsup:

Lost and Found

NBC is reporting that a five year old child was lost in a mountainous CA camping area Saturday night and was spotted/found by CHP helicopoter. The child had a glowstick necklace and a flashlight. Somebody was prepared.

Safety is the reason I like to hand out glow items (Sticks, necklaces & bracelets) to trick-or-treaters, in addition to candy. The kids love 'em and they don't cost that much if you buy a bulk quantity, like on ebay. The only problem is that cold weather really degrades their performance. Maybe something made out of 3M reflective tape would help. I think some costumes are incorporating reflective material into their designs.
