Know a way to automatically insert text into PCX?

I need to insert text into an image file (pcx). I have no idea on how to do this automatically. The easiest thing would be to take the filename and insert it, but I don't know of any software that does this./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

There are a lot of files that need to be done, so doing it manually is out of the question. It needs to be automated.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm ready to listen...

searched for "insert text image pcx" and that seemed
to be one of the best results.
