I've recently purchased a bunch of 1.5v PR LED bulbs that I intend to use in my old 2-cell (AA, C, and D) flashlights. Naturally, since I'll only be using one cell instead of two, I need something to fill the empty space and still make a reliable electrical connection, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

What do you guys use for dummy cells?

The dummy cell take up the space and carries current from the real batteries to the bulb. It does this without adding any extra voltage. Sometimes you need the cell to balance the need that the bulb/LED has for voltage and the voltage supplied by the batteries. I used to make them. Now I find it easier and cheaper to buy them. I'm looking at a bag of dummy cells that I made from aluminum right now. I should put those away.

you could try getting some springs and wrapping them with something. Maybe even find springs the fit inside PVC pipe cut the length of a battery and wrapped to match the diameter
