Hi everybody, I'm trying to figure out if anyplace still sells the Thrunite Catapult V2 XM-L? I would prefer to have that version because of the simpler UI; I'm a LEO looking for a good thrower and the Catapult seems to be just the ticket, but there's too many modes on the V3 and a little less lux.

Hey Turan8, I had a few minutes so I figured since I've busted my flashlight allowance, I might as well help someone else spend their's. So I thought I'd give your inquiry a shot and here's what I found.

Give me a minute, the dog's are looking at me so I gotta feed them first! .............

...... Ok, I'm back! One thing before I start (or give you the info.), if you pull me over while I'm in your city, you are going to give me a break, … Right? Ok, Ok, juuust kidding around …

Ledfiretorches.co.uk: Charlie shows the V2 in stock.

NOTE: when ordering through Ledfiretorches.co.uk you'll be charged the European VAT tax regardless if you're in the States. So it's something to consider if you really want it and can't find it anywhere else because you'll pay a premium for this purchase. In addition, I haven't received the flashlight I ordered (tracking show's it's State side), so I'm hoping I don't get hit with a import duty on top of paying the VAT tax. Oh well if I do, it's only money right? All I know is, I better like this flashlight! ... LOL

However, Charlie's communication is excellent, is personable, will process your order efficiently and shipped with a Royal Mail tracking number.

On a side note, when I was looking for a compact thrower, I watched goinggear's "CREE XM-L Thrower Flashlight Showdown" (Catapult, TK35 and M3X).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9XosPlnhAc

What made me decide on the Olight M3X (as you'll see in the video) is you don't loose any performance when using the M3X in it's short configuration (x3 CR1123A's or as I use it with x2 18500's), like you do if you use the Catapult in it's short configuration. As well as for it's compact overall size.

Another thing about the M3X's strike style tail cap. I received a conformation from Olight USA that they don't have a smooth tail cap available for the M3X unlike the M30 Triton. And you can't use the M30 Triton's smooth tail cap on the M3X.

Well, that's what I came up with, other's may have other places you can find the V2!

Good Luck!
