I've been carrying a Fenix P1D Premium Q5 on my keychain for a couple of years. It has served me well, but I've got that new-flashlight itch and need some advice on what to consider for my next EDC light.
Here's what I like about my Fenix P1D Q5:
- Size, weight, durability, dependability, user interface
- 5 Output Levels: 95 lumens -> 180 lumens -> 16 lumens -> Strobe -> SOS
- Cree XR-E LED tint and beam pattern
- CR123A battery and form factor
- Digital regulation; efficiency
Two improvements I'd like to have in a new light:
- Higher max output
- Ability to use a rechargeable cell without losing output-level selection ability
Is there a potential replacement that offers more than a small increase in output and the ability to use either primary or rechargeable cells?
I'd like to keep the price under $100 and want a mainstream rather than customized light. Is there anything out there that would "wow" me?
