There is also a (more expensive) one with variable brightness control. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
IMHO this one is sturdier.

Do they use a lens to focus the light?
Putting all of the available light into a smaller space would make it seem brighter.

What is that plastic ring on the back for? Why not just have a normal lanyard hole?

I do not think that this would generate enough interest to obtain special prices.
I think the offer at Soldier of Fortune B@rt mentioned is the cheapest I saw so far if it is the bigger version, I cannot tell from the pic.
I would tempted for sure ...
