The ASP Taclite/Triad (internal focus model with newer contoured rather than cylindrical lamp) is one of the three longest-throwing 2x123 lights currently in production, the others being the TACM III and the Pelican M6.

For me, yes. I carry one daily. It's the only incandescent flashlight that I carry. There are other alternatives others deem better. For what I paid for it (less than $20 in 1997) and the accessories that are available for it, I have chosen to remain with this product. It suits my needs VERY adequately. MOST importantly, I have trained several hundred hours with this light. No sense in starting over with another product.

wow, definitely sounds like a must-have for someone who loves long-throwing lights..

when it's the only incandescent someone will carry, it raises an eyebrow!

thanks for replying everyone.. now that i reflect, i've actually heard of the light prior to my stumbling acrossed it..
however i didn't know of its "talents" 'til just now.
