I have a V@ SST-50 Cat but no ext. tube. Very dim on 1x 18650, hella bright on 2XCR123.

what other options do I have other than tracking down a tube. I would rather keep it in the short version. Can I run 2 x RCR?

You could, but it would not be advisable. You're likely to pop the protection circuit on them though you may get a few minutes use before that happens.

Either what lightfooted said, or the batteries will go flat before the PTC can even kick in.

Seriously. You aren't even going to get twenty minutes of runtime with 2xRCR123As.

hmmmm. I already have a Cat V3 with the extra tube. I was hoping to get away with just using the single battery tube.

Can I use the V3 XM-L with just a single tube?
