M31HCRI run-time and OTF lumens Question (yes, I googled first)

Sorry if this is a redundant question, I tried regular google, and I tried this site. I also DID READ the page I bought it from here:

So...is it 140 lumens, or 230 lumens?

http://illuminationsupply.com/m31hcri-p-78.html

What is the runtime? I know it depends on if I use a 1450MAH or the 1600MAH batteries, but if you know a run-time and the MAH used, please tell!

Thank-you!

Copied straight from the page you linked.

"The output is approximately 230 measured out the front lumens at 1.8-3.3v and 150 lumens at 1.2v. The current draw is 1 Amp at 3 volts and 1.4 Amps at 2.4 volts."

So, if you are running it off of 2 AA's (how I run mine) or 1 cr123, it is 230 lumens.
If you run it off of 1 AA it is 150 lumens.

My Eneloops are 2000Mah. This means I have a 3V power source and I should see 1A draw at first, and it will climb to a 1.4A draw as the batteries die and the voltage drops. So, I should see around a 1.5- 2 hour runtime, but I have not actually tested it yet.

With a 1450-1600Mah battery at 3V she would run for about 1 - 1.5 hours.

Reminder: The MAXIMUM input voltage is 3.3 volts on this!

Did you read the full page? It went on to state 140 lumens. Total info conflict.

Yes I read the whole page, several times, and I also own one. The brightness of these modules begins to drop off as the batteries die, and the voltage drops...
They are intentionally designed to work that way.

My guess is they are simply listing the minimum output...

I have a M31HCRI as well as a M61HCRI. On 2 1.2V NiMh AA Eneloops the M31HCRI is every bit as bright as my M61HCRI, ran off 1 18650.

Now, the M61HCRI is rated at 150 lumens, so That is a bit odd isn't it???

Read through this thread, Craig states that the drive levels in the M61HCRI are the same as the standard M61, (which is rated at 260 lumens.)

The normal M31 is rated at 230 lumens. My guess is the M31HCRI has the same drive levels as the standard M31 also. But that is just a guess.

Of course the HCRI led's output is always a little less than "normal" bins, which is probabally why when asked in the other thread, Craig mentioned a couple times that the output of the M61HCRI is probably actually around 170-180 OTF lumens.

Again, My M31HCRI is just as bright as my M61HCRI.

Gene returned my email today. 160-180 otf lumens for 1-1:15 on a 1600mah cr123.
