Has anybody owned an SR90 series LED flashlight long enough yet to know how long it took for the propriatry battery pack to be at the end of its useful life?

These battery packs are also used in the SR91 and SR92.

These battery packs are not cheap at $90 to $120.

I like the idea of having 6 x 18650 batteries in the SR90 etc but I love even better the idea that I could use my own 18650 batteries when they need replacing at a reasonable cost.

Does anyone know if it is worthwhile or even possible to pull the Olight battery cannister apart to replace the 18650 batteries?

That's why I consider the way Olight went with the SR51 to be a sensible battery idea, that is
6 x CR123A/RCR or 2 x 18650.

Some CPFers are going to tell me to put this item in the HID/Spotlight Forum.

It isn't a HID but it is a big LED spotlight, this is getting confusing at times.

Maybe it should be in a new category of Large LED Spotlights.

The "proprietary" pack is nothing more than 6 18650s and a balancer. Since 18650s are li-ons, their lifespan is usually around 3-5 years depending on use.
