Building an Invincible Light! Build Thread...

Any way here is were we are so far... Keep in mind this is just the first prototype kind of a proof of concept. V.2 will be water tight, with recessed rubber gaskets and a recessed lexan front cover. We also have several changes in mind ... hope to get it drawn up and built in the next few days/weeks.


Using a mill we turned a solid block in to a perfectly sized housing for 3 Cree XP-Gs and a 1000ma buck puck.

Anodize it it will be invincible. Super nice build. I really like the beam patern it puts out. Well done.:thumbsup:

Thanks! that's the plan once we settle on the design. Our local place charges a base rate of 60$ so once we have enough made we can use them. Thinking about black with dark grey accents.

Just curious, was your housing CNC'd? If not, it looks like you have mastered the use of the rotary table.

Wow, great build! Initially, I thought the title said "invisible" light, and I got really excited, thinking it was some sort of light wizardry. Turns out, it is light wizardry judging by how cool the build turned out, just not the invisible kind.
