Goodness, man, where, oh where is the Maxabeam and that other one...the one that looks sort of like a gun and comes in 75 and 125 Watt flavors? A moment of CRS! What about the tank lights? What about the 60" carbon arc? That's just off the top of my head.

And to follow the guidelines in your post, no LED light should be listed. There is no comparison in the throw category btw LED and HID. LED's don't hold a candle to any "most powerful" HID.

Also, I assume the order you list them in is not in order of most powerful and big throw.

Well, the SureFire HellFighter would probably make this list, I would imagine ... :)

EDIT: And some of the custom throwers made by ma_sha1 too !

Is that the MegaRay 2000 (short arc Xenon), that you are referring to?

Is "The Torch" by wicked lasers info real? I doubt it can even produce half of what is stated

Its real but also completely pointless. It seems to give off most of its energy as heat and can be used to fry eggs ... :/ a little cool but also pointless and not what you'd want in a hand held flashlight!

Sent from my mobile using TapaTalk (so please excuse bad grammar & spelling!) :)

Maxabeam is nowhere near 8000 lumens as listed by the OP
typically they are 1000ish lumens (for the older models) up to maybe 1500-2000 for the newest models.

My old Gen2 (with Ushio UXL75XE bulb mod) has done a properly tested 7.2 million candlepower - I haven't tested the Gen3 yet

A kit with battery is $2500 from brightguy (that's just light, battery, charger, battery cable and shoulder strap - adding anything to the package will make it cost more - options include hard case, mounts, longer powerlead, filters, extra batteries etc)

I think the newest Maxabeam still outshines the Megaray, but the Megaray has a bigger spot out in the distance (and is more useful) - pretty sure the MB still holds the title for longest throwing off the shelf light (it's also smaller than I expected, after handling things like the Thor)

Heres a pic of my Gen2 Maxabeam reaching out 1000m (0.62 miles) (I know I overuse this pic, but I can't think of any other way to show what the Maxabeam does

The Ryobi One+ Xenon light is also pretty good, should be around 3200 lumens, but with a "wall of light" type beam, that floods a wide area, but still reaches out pretty well
its also a good deal if you already have one+ batteries
