I like the BC25 allot.
It's symmetrical and does not have a large oblong head.
It's got a clean simple design from top to bottom, no narrowing neck or oblong head.

I don't like the stepdown after 5 minutes, are then any lights that can do 500-600+ ANSI lumens on a single 18650 constant?

Thanks for any input guys.

Is that the only light?
I think my best best would be the SC600.
Anyone know where I can see outdoor beam shots of the SC600W?

Dark Sucks Alpha series (cool tints) can maintain ~500 lm constant.

Any XM-L based light should be able to do this providing they have adequate thermal management (aka heatsinking).

Eagtac G25 can do it.
Led lumen: 770
ANSI FL-1 lumen: 640
This measurement is taken with energy saving feature (on by default) and with two CR123A. G25C2 reduces output by 20% after 200 seconds at turbo mode. User can disable or enable this energy saving feature.

These numbers beat the SC600.

I just checked the g25 out i like it. 640 ansi rated. Sweet:)
Could not figure out what type/brand battery they used to test it.

Where the ratings tested using 1 18650 to get the runtime and output?

Most of the more powerful XM-L lights can do at least 500 ANSI OTF lumens for 5 mins, with good cells like Sanyo 2600 (very good discharge curve), NCR18650 2900mAh or NCR18650A 3100mAh cells. Most of the lights that take at least 2A at the tail can do that, assuming that the driver is quite efficient.

But if your question is to whether can it do 500 ANSI OTF lumens constantly by regulation, it's gets trickier but I think not impossible, usually people look at lights that take 2 cells (be it 2 x 18350/16340 or 2 x 18650) to be fully regulated, as in the whole discharge duration outputs more or less the same lumens.

I like the Xeno G42/F42 mentioned, even my T5 neutral white does at least 500 OTF.
How about a Shadow JM07? They have a dark gray version, HA with nice finish, no visible PWM, cold-white tint or T6 3C neutral white availabe, 3 mode no blinkies so that's good for flashaholics.....very good form factor. The thing i love about it is that it has a very tough matt finish, HA's quite durable even compared to my Jetbeam/Fenix/Sunwaymans. They also came out a white one. Takes 26650 but has a 18650 adapter included (won't really rattle). Very good value for money. People have torture/stress tested it by dropping it from 5 storeys and Shadow lights are well received in Budgetlightforum and Shoudian. Available at int-outdoor. It is one of the best budget lights available.

The SC600 will do ~500 Lm for 2 hours. The SC600w will do ~430 for 2 hours.

G27

Not that it's much of a big deal but I am used to the ANSI rating and ZL rates in OTF.
I admit I like the look of ZL though and it's size is way smaller compared to the others mentioned.
I can always turn off and back on to get the 500lumens and maybe I'll get a model with no stepdown.

The G25 is catching my attention but the run times is a bit hmmmmm as expected though. What 18650 has the best discharge curve with longest runtimes?

Zebralight's have remarkably flat regulation. So even though Zebralight rates them OTF, it's quite likely their ANSI rating wouldn't be much different. See Selfbuilt's review here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?320986-Zebralight-SC600-%281x18650-XM-L%29-Review-RUNTIME-BEAMSHOTS-comparisons-amp-more!

By default, the SC600 starts at 750 lumens, but ramps back to 500 lumens after 5 minutes. If you wish, you can also configure it so it comes on at 500 lumens and stays there. It's remarkably efficient, and will likely sustain 500 lumens longer than any other 1x18650 light on the market.

Oh wow the ZL SC600 is a winner!

Selfbuilt rates his lights ANSI. So the lights actually 760 ansi?
Can it fit a aw2900mah in it?
