Hey Guys, how about we discuss here the greatest throwers in the various cell formats?

Ex.

In the Single cell category:

1xAA
1.
2.
3.

1XCR123
1.
2.
3.

1x14500
1.
2.
3.

1x18650
1.
2.
3.

And so on.

Then for the Double Cell Category: 2xAA, 2xCR123, 2x18650, and so on.

Then for the multi-cell category: Throwers having 3 or more cells

Lastly the ULTIMATE Category, wherein the best throwers that money can buy can be listed here.

Now the reason to get this thread going is to help guide fellow CPFer's who are currently in the hunt for the ultimate throwers in the various formats listed above.

Kinda like the cheat-sheet to finding their personal holy grail. Now I know we all have our opinions about each of the lights we have seen and the lights we have purchased and this thread can reach out to more people, members and lurkers alike. I guess you can relate with me when I say that finding out about the lights we are interested in are sometimes so hard to find (if any) or that we realized that there were such lights that existed that we didnt know about. You guys know what I mean.

So, do we get this thread going?

Challenge goes out to the Throaholics out there!

There's one light that fits in a couple of these categories by lego'ing the head onto other bodies. The Quark 123x2 Turbo X can be used on a AA body & a 123 body using Li-ion batteries. This makes it one of the best throwers in the single AA & single 123 categories, and it's a very good thrower using 2 CR123's or a single 17670 Li-ion....10300 Lux with this light in these configurations.

My favorite 1 X 18650 thrower is the Olight M21X (14400 Lux.)

My favorite 2 X 18650 throwers are the Olight M3X (can't find lux), Thrunite Catapult V3 (40500 Lux), and EagleTac M3C4 XM-L (38750 Lux).

Dereelight DBS aspheric with EZ900 XR-E R2 3SM 1.5 amp pill 2 x CR123, 3 x CR123, or 2 x RCR123
Supposed to hit about 90,000 lux.

Of course this thread wouldn't be complete without mentioning the original Deft.
I run mine with 4 AA Eneloops
Unsure what's the lux rating on mine or on all the variations that were made.
But when I'm on my balcony, I can clearly see the hotspot (square) on a condo that's a little less than a 1/2 mile away.

2 x AA. Wolf eyes krait. 11200lux. (asperic zoom light)
It's old. You can still find it, but most places are sold out by now. I think it's the lux king in the 2 aa class.
