What is the DBS v3 "dot" supposed to look like?

Hey,

I just got my dereelight dbs and and am very impressed by how far it throws. I was just curious if the spill on mine is the same as others are getting. I have heard people say "there is no spill with the aspherical lens" but i wasnt sure how literally i was supposed to take that

. Pics below.

Im going to have to pick up a SMO reflector for it. I wasnt aware it only included the aspherical lens.

Here's what you should have purchased:

DBS V3 R2, (1SM or 3SM) then add on the Aspheric lens and the E650. = 120 USD

cool beamshots, it's really square when it throws.

If you have the aspherical head then yes, it will look something like that. You can focus the LED for max throw by turning the head and making the beam square shaped.

Look just like mine. What people means when proclaiming no spill, is that the rings are not visible out at any long distance projections, they are simply too dim to be visible.

You will need a new head to be able to fit a SMO reflector to this light. Try to contact Alan @ Dereelight and make a request on the smo reflector + head.

BTW make sure to run it at at least 5V, everything below and the light will not be regulated.

Yep, those beamshots look just like mine, as stated the spill isn't visible at any distance.
