Based on other threads in the forum I was interested in the release of MagTac. I contacted Maglite customer service with two questions:
1. What is the estimated ship date for the MagTac??
2. Will the MagTax have a polycarbonate or a glass window?
Here is the response I received from Maglite:
Dear Scott,
Thank you for choosing Maglite products. We apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry! The Mag-Tac is not expected to be released (along with specs and information) until approximately 3rd quarter 2012. Kindly keep an eye on our website for updates. Please contact us if we can be of further assistance.

Also, as I posted in another thread, Maglite does NOT offer a glass window upgrade or replacement for their XL line of flashlights.
