Li-ion/Li-Polymer camera chargers

This thought hit me the other day. I was turning my camera charger around when I realized that the charger I was holding was designed to charge bare Li-ion or Li-polymer cells (prismatic single cell). From here I was thinking that perhaps it could be modified to charge other Li-ion cells. The charge rate is low since it charges cells that are about 800 mAh, and it does not reset protection circuits to my knowledge since the circuit is built into the camera. Has anyone or is anyone willing to try this out? It might be a viable option since it is CC/CV already, is not prohibitively expensive, and is quite compact. I have the Canon one for NB-4L cells and it has three terminals, +, -, and ground.
