I have a Jetbeam MKIIX that I bought years ago. I use it with an eneloop AA battery. Even with the battery fully charged, the flashlight seems to have mind of it's own. The output varies constantly, even after just turning it on. Oftentimes is automatically goes to strobe.

What am "I" doing wrong? Or is the flashlight? Does it need to be replaced? If so, with what? I like the size, but fluctuating output drives me nuts. I'm just casual flashlight user.

Hi Michael,
I would try cleaning the threads of the body and tail cap really good. And maybe try a different battery. Usually my problems have been caused by dirty threads. Lighthound carries the Nyogel 760g lube. I believe this is what Surefire uses from the factory on the threads. After cleaning, I use a little Nyogel on the threads. It works great. Hope this helps.
