Any leads on a good site (or even a thread here) that compares all the features and pros&cons of the various SureFire models? I'm confused . . .

surefire.com You could try the site, I think there is a chart somewhere. Also you could order a catalog and look at that.

1. Go to Surefire.com
2. Click on a link for the light type you want to list (Personal lights; Rechargeables; Special Ops lights)
3. Click on the link named "Comparison Chart"
You'll see specs including dimensions and lumen ratings, very useful for relative comparison.
As for features, that's always been hard for me to decipher. For example they don't come out and say exactly how the 10X works for turning it on using the tailcap vs. twisting the head. Same with some other lights. Nearly universally though, a click-switch (aka: "charlie") is to be ordered as an accessory otherwise to get constant-on you have to twist down the head of the light.
Many folks (I do too) find it hard to get a sense of the sizes of these things. In the 2003 calendar there's a beautiful photo of all the lights together. That's the best I've seen.
