An FYI about the new Maratac AAA v2
Pros
Its brighter and more efficient.
Low mode is slightly brighter.
Cons
No more dimpled reflector, makes the beam look cheap.
I broke mine, so I can tell you, you cant disassemble it.
I have no idea how they got the LED in the top but its stuck there for now.
I am already an owner of 4 Maratac AAA and have bought many more as gifts.
I am so disappointed in my new flashlight. I mean REALLY disappointed!
The beam compared to my Copper Edition was pitiful. Much wider and very un-uniform.
My thought was, 'Well... I'm not going to trade this light for my current one as my daily in pocket flashlight..... Maybe I can pull the LED module out and modify it to fit in my CU edition, after all, it is brighter and more efficient.'
well, nope cant be done. I'm so frustrated at this moment, I don't think I will ever buy another Maratac flashlight, definitely not another v2!!!
