Coleman Ultra High Power LED torch?

Cat. #2000003911. Anyone have one? Wish to pull the trigger, but I know better: see if any CPF'ers know about it first.
It uses the MC-E, 6 x AA, and puts out 500 Lumens. Superficially, it resembles an ROP in power, form, and cells, but LED and cheaper, and ready to go right out of the box? Yes or No? I am probably missing something here. Seems to good to be true.

Likely running 2 parallel sets of 3 AA cells, so direct drive. IF it has any sort of current limiting then you'd probably get pretty good runtime w/ Eneloops. Absolutely no technical info for the emitter or any sort of regulation so I'll guess there's none used. Total tint lottery for the emitter, you might get a nice neutral or warm but just as likely to get a frosty cold blue emitter.
