Not bad at all, especially the combination of different colours with a decent high in white! The beam appears to be much better than the one of the Surefire Kroma. Only the strobe mode would bother me. I´d rather have a third brightness level instead.

That gets added to my list for future consideration! I wonder what the price point will be...

Thanks for continuing to point these and others out :) (the JETBeam RRT-01 is another really nice looking light).

Sparse interior ;) On on hand I´d like to have a thrower again after all those floody lights..... but I´m not really sure if I were to get the lens system or the reflector version. I guess I´d have to see some outdoor beamshots first to judge the beam with the lenses.

Hi guys, I received the "Engineer prototype" version today, sorry my english is not too good.. but I hope understand.

First, MicroFire is not a equal other chinese "XXXFire" budget light. Quality is very good, equal other top chinese brands. Very nice black matte hard anodizing. Lens and reflector is clean. The switch is "soft" and very silent. Beam quality is good, comes with OP reflector, no ring, donut hole etc. I think a lighter orange peel ref. would be better. On low mode slightly visible pwm flickering, but on high mode is no problem. The strobe mode is not too aggressive.

white led = Cree XP-G (I think R5-bin), tint=clean white! (not blueish, greenish, yellowish)
red, green and blue = Cree XP-E

I use unprotected Panasonic NCR18650A (3100mA) battery and absolutely no rattle. My biggest battery, XTAR 18700 working perfect with this flashlight.

But now, "one picture worth a thousand words". I hope you like it.

Nice shots and video! If a picture is worth a thousand words, and you shot your video at 30 frames per second, then that video is like typing 1800 words per minute!

Very nice light....and nice pics indeed, gopajti!

I like the idea of the off-axis rotation body for the color changing, so the led's sharing the same circuit and current?

i have sent an email to Microfire...the request is for a nichia 219 high CRI instead of white xp-g, and UV instead blue.....still waiting for a answer.

EDIT

Ops forgot to ask...no way to skip the strobe mode? The UI is low-high-strobe in sequence?

Thanks.

Ok thanks!

But the specs are the same? From what i see, tailcap has changed...i hope also the UI!

Another detail that grabbed my curiosity is the first pic....now the rotation mechanism maintains the led out of the center of the reflector focus?
