Hi there,

I searched couldn't find a straight answer, so here goes...

Will the Streamlight PT1L work with a single 16340 battery? I have a PT1L and want to try it, but I really like this light and don't want it to go :poof: . The PT2L uses two CR123A batteries (~6v) and all the heads on the PT/Protac series look the same. I read one post claiming the 1AA, 2AA, and 1L use the same "innards" while the 2L is different, thus Li-Ions won't work in the 1L. I also read another post where someone uses Li-Ions to good effect in the PT1L. So, while I'm sure Streamlight would say no-way, does anyone know enough about these lights to say whether this would work without damaging the light? I'm guessing it would be safe if the 1L and 2L use the same basic circuitry?
