Recently I have a chance to test my JETBeam 3M XML recoil handling capabilities. The light was installed on Fabarm SDASS Composite 12GA pump shotgun: http://www.fabarm.com/en/products-sdass-composite.htm

using CAA components: barrel mounted Picattiny rail and 5-position plastic light mount.

More than 40 shots with 32 grams RIO Brenneke (http://www.rioammo.com/Gslugs.html) were made through one shooting session.

The light passed this test without any damage or malfunction. Than it was disassembled and 18650 battery was inspected thoroughly. No dents or scratches were found. So the springs inside the light body are working as advertised to absorb the high power recoil impact.

I think 3M XML can easily handle .300 Win Mag recoil and even higher calibers. But it's better to search for the other mounting options than CAA :) The CAA Picatinny rail left a couple of deep scratches on my shotgun barrel and the light almost slipped out from plastic mount after the 40 shots :) Also installing this mount correctly is a real pain if You are in a hurry or need to make some fast adjustments.

P.S. Sorry for the bad English :) I've tried my best....

Light mount technologies manufactures some really nice mounts for various shotguns. All metal and about as stout as they come. Im glad the light worked out. I am looking for a decent light for my 12gauge
