Anyone using rubylith film for red filtering?

Just wondering about this stuff - whether it would be worth trying in order to make a red thrower out of my Pro-1? I'd get a second lens and coat it in red rubylith.

Just wondering how much throw it would cut out of the light? Red filters seem to suck the power right out of lights, even my hand held Lightforce lights.

i've used rubilith for filters before, it works well with Incans and FL, but when it comes to LED, lm output is severely reduced. better off to have a dedicated Red LED light if thats whats you need, but if your OK with the reduction in lms, then go with it.
keep in mind however, the thin rubilith film off of its plastic backing won't hold up to the heat or UV from alot of lights, it tends to turn eather brown (heat) or a funky purpleish pink (UV). most LEDs should be ok tho.
